A village community on the Lizard peninsula now has access to lightning fast broadband after a local company stepped in after hearing their plea.
Goonhilly-based wireless internet company, Wildanet, has transformed the internet experience for 14 residents of Gunwalloe with more awaiting installation.
The company claim that internet speeds previously averaged less than 1.5Mbps, yet now say residents are enjoying minimum guaranteed speeds of 20Mbps.
Aaron Coward of Wildanet said: “Because our wireless internet uses radio waves through the air, it can be deployed to a village or community far more quickly than fibre optic or copper networks. We’re covering major areas of the Lizard currently and building our network but we have the flexibility of being able to target specific communities if there is a requirement to do so.”
