Theme park launches recruitment drive

One of the biggest annual recruitment drives in Helston is about to begin, offering about 80 people the chance to work at Flambards Theme Park.

While the gates are open for most of the year, many outdoor rides and attractions only open from the spring. That requires a major recruitment drive to bring in the required full and part time staff before the season officially opens on April 1.

One of the more unusual vacancies is for a new recruit to take on the role of the famous costume character Ferdi the Fox.

Spokesman Richard Smith said: “Ferdi plays a vital role at Flambards and it’s crucial we get the right person for the job.”

The attraction is looking to recruit new members of staff for roles including catering assistants, ride operators and customer service hosts. A recruitment day will be held on March 1 between 10am and 2pm, in conjunction with Helston Job Centre.

Application forms can be obtained by emailing, contacting the Job Centre or completed on the day.
