Step up to social work

Talented graduates are being sought for a work-based training scheme in children’s social work.

Cornwall Council is looking to recruit graduates through the Step Up to Social Work scheme.
The programme is aimed at graduates with a 2:1 degree in any discipline except social work who also have experience of working with children. The 14 month fast-track scheme will lead to a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work.

Marion Russell, Principal Child & Family Social Worker for Cornwall, said: “Step Up is aimed at people with degrees who are working with or have experience of working with children and young people. We want to attract local people into social work who have a passion for working with children.”

An information session will be held on Friday between 2pm and 3.30pm at County Hall in Truro. Places can be booked by contacting Alison Dunn at
