Self service garage celebrates key milestone

A self service repair garage is celebrating a key milestone in its history, by clocking up five years of trading in Helston.

Ubique Motor DIY at Water-Ma-Trout Industrial Estate offers motorists a place to work on their own vehicles with professional advice and guidance. The modern workshop is fitted with all the tools and equipment of a professional garage and is open to anyone with any level of expertise, including beginners.

Owner Reggie Perrett set up the business after spending 34 years working with engines and vehicles in the Royal Navy. He wanted to give motorists the chance to work on their own vehicles to help slash the cost of expensive repair bills.

Mr Perrett said: “I am delighted to have reached our five year milestone and would like to thank all our customers for their support. Whether you’re a motor enthusiast or a beginner, a classic car owner or driving your first car, a kit-car builder or a mobile mechanic, we offer everything you need to keep your car, van, motorbike or camper van running safely and smoothly. The facilities we offer help people get the job done better and often quicker than trying to carry out the work on their driveway at home and I am always on hand to give advice when it’s needed. We hold workshops to help give beginners confidence that they deal with simple problems at the roadside if the need arises.”
