Personnel from RNAS Culdrose will march through the streets of Helston on Thursday at the 60th anniversary of the Freedom of Helston parade.
The annual spectacle celebrates the squadron’s right to march through the town with swords drawn, bayonets fixed, drums beating, bands playing and flags flying, in recognition of the naval base’s contribution to the town.
A formal inspection will take place at Trengrouse Way car park at 10.10am, before the parade proceeds to Meneage Street and Coinagehall Street.
The Mayor of Helston, Councillor John Martin, will be present accompanied by the Commanding Officer of RNAS Culdrose and members of the town council.
The Freedom of Helston parade has taken place in the town since 1958.
