Outdoor theatre performances continue at Penrose

A summer season of outdoor plays continues next week with a performance by the ever-popular Squashbox Theatre.

Legend has it there are five types of faery in Cornwall: the Small Folk, the Piskies, the Knockers, the Brownies and – most mischievous of all – the Spriggans.

Skillywidden celebrates the wildlife and faery myths of Cornwall with mix of puppets, songs, storytelling and cabaret with a strong environmental message.

Audiences are invited on a journey through the Cornish landscape to search for the elusive creatures in ancient stone circles, old mine workings, fields, farmland, hedgerows and moors.

The event will be held in the courtyard of The Stables Café at the Penrose National Trust Estate on August 14 at 11am.

Free parking is available at Helston’s fairground car park which is a 25-minute walk away. Limited parking can be found at Penrose Hill car park in Porthleven.

Audiences are invited to bring a chair and blankets. For more information including disabled parking reservations contact The Stables Cafe on 01326 562353.

All tickets cost £5 and are only available in advance from crbo.co.uk.
