Optician focuses on customer care

A Helston optician has described how his team is delivering on his vision of focusing on customer care at their practice in the town.

Matthews Opticians & Hearing Care opened in March after resident optometrist Adam Matthews saw an opportunity to buy the practice from Vision Express when they announced plans to close several high street branches.

Adam said: “We felt that due to the vast number of loyal customers on our records dating back to the days of Batemans Opticians, and the excellent and highly experienced staff already in the practice, that it would be a terrible shame if we were forced to close. We saw this as an opportunity to keep a little bit of the high street in the independent sector and decided to stay together as a team.”

They have invested in optical technology as well as securing a wide range of budget friendly and high-end frames from some of the world’s best fashion brands including Silhouette, Ray Ban, Jimmy Choo, Tom Ford, Hugo Boss. The practice also offers a large stock of children’s frames and has recently introduced Hearing Care services providing complementary tests and impartial advice.

Adam added: “I wanted to bring a more customer focused, personalised experience to the community of Helston and the feedback from our growing number of clients has been overwhelmingly positive.”
