Pupils from St Michael’s school military kids club have spent time learning art techniques at Helston Museum.
Children from the HMS Heroes club worked with local artist Tony Minnion to create artwork for the museum’s Joining Forces exhibition. Puplis learned the art of screen printing and produced a variety of cushions and pennants inspired by the museum’s collection of military photographs. The event also included work from pupils from Helston School and The Clies and Culdrose Community Centre.
The exhibition’s theme surrounded military stories and focused on the relationship between Helston and RNAS Culdrose and aimed to unite both communities through creativity and appreciation of local military history.
Mr Minnion said: “I really enjoyed working with the children on the project, they were a pleasure to work with and were really inspired creating so many different fantastic original designs. The finished pennants brightened up the exhibition.”
