Medical efficiency awarded at Culdrose

Captain Ade Orchard OBE presented the Air Station’s Medical Centre Manager with an Efficiency Award In one of his last official engagements as Commanding Officer RNAS Culdrose.

Lisa Smith, the Business Manager of RNAS Culdrose’s Defence Primary Healthcare Centre picked up the prestigious award for her work at the base over the past two years.  Her devotion to working in the Medical Centre has contributed to the worldwide capability of the squadrons and personnel deployed on operations and duties with the Fleet. She has also overseen the successful completion of Culdrose’s Medical Centre two million pound refurbishment and has been crucial in covering gapped positions in senior management.
Diligent in her work, she also excelled in the implementation of new process and the added responsibility of bringing the amalgamation of RAF St Mawgan’s workload into the Medical Centre’s area.

Captain Orchard thanked Lisa for work and said: “An exemplar of Defence Medical Services, Lisa Smith is a stalwart professional and despite relentless change and operational activity her commitment and determination to succeed is exceptional makes her a worthy recipient of a Captain’s Efficiency Award.”
