Lizard Lifeboat summer fete goes ahead despite the weather

A large crowd braved wet conditions to attend the Lizard Lifeboat Summer Fete on the weekend

The annual event took place at the Lizard Football Club and visitors were treated to all of the usual souvenir stalls, cakes, crab sandwiches, raffles, and games which were on offer to everyone who came to support the lifeboat.

The event also launched the official 2017 Lizard Lifeboat Calendar which has been produced again thanks to the kind generosity of L&S Printing.

The fund raising committee were delighted to welcome the Mullion Coastguards and Mullion Fire Fighters to the football field again, both were popular attractions to the fete and all at the lifeboat station wish to thank them for their attendance during the afternoon. Hayle Town Band also entertained the visitors as they have done so in previous years.

Huge thanks go to the superb team of volunteers who generously made cakes and scones, donated raffle prizes, manned the stalls and gave up their time all in aid of our lifeboat. Thanks also go to The Lizard Football Club, Ann Muller for the delicious giant pasty and to everyone who came and supported a fantastic afternoon for The Lizard Lifeboat. Over £1500 was raised which hailed the event as another resounding success.

The next fundraising event is on Saturday 13th August in The Landewednack School Community Hall when everyone is invited to enjoy a “Big Cornish Breakfast” all in aid of The Lizard Lifeboat.
