Japanese rock and punk comes to Cornwall

Princess Pavilion will welcome Japanese rock royalty to its stage next week.

Shonen Knife is a groundbreaking all-female Japanese, pop-punk rock trio formed in Osaka in 1981.

The group was i inspired by ‘70’s punk-pop and US punk rock band The Ramones, before they went onto crafting their own songs and producing their own albums.

The group have toured with legendary rock band Nirvana on their Nevermind tour, recorded sessions for John Peel and appeared on MTV’s ‘Beavis and Butthead’.

The band returned to the UK after a gap of 16 years in 2009 and have since toured regularly throughout Europe. They will perform at The Princess Pavilion next Tuesday at 8pm. Visit www.tempusleisure.org.uk for more details.
