Helston’s Mayor to step back in time for new play

Preparations are underway for Helston Theatre Company’s new summer play, Jamaica Inn.

Based on the best-selling tale by Daphne Du Marnier, the performance will be directed by Helston Mayor, Gillian Geer, and performed at two outdoor venues.

Auditions will be held on April 3 with rehearsals starting at the end of the month.

Mrs Geer has encouraged those looking to audition to read the novel if possible, to provide an insight into the characters and story.

The performance will be held at Trebah Gardens at Mawnan Smith on August 2 and 3 and at Penlee Park in Penzance on August 4 and 5.

The public are invited to find out about the production at a launch event in The Epworth Hall on Sunday at 7pm.
