Helston mum loses cancer fight days after donating money to charities

A mum-of-two who was known throughout Helston for her smiling face has lost her three-year fight against cancer.

Debbie Adlard passed away peacefully on Saturday 17 March, just days after presenting more than £2,500 in donations to three cancer charities.

Debbie refused to let terminal cancer get in the way of supporting causes close to her heart, and handed over the money in aid of three units based at Royal Cornwall Hospital at Truro that provided her with care.

She refused to let the disease get in the way of living her life to the full, and until recently worked at the town’s Tesco supermarket and at Helston Community Hospital. Her brave fight sadly came to an end as she passed away in a hospice, aged 50.
