An artist, quarry worker and cultural geographer will visit Helston this week to discuss his work with granite as part of the Helston Makes It series.
David Paton has worked with stone since 1995 and combines artisanal granite work with creative research. He will discuss how his work has developed over the past decade and will show films and images exploring both the creative and practical aspects of working with the stone.
The talk has been organised in partnership with Helston Makes It – a series of talks, workshops and demonstrations throughout September celebrating the history of craftsmanship and trade in the town.
The event takes place on Thursday at CAST, 3 Penrose Road, Helston from 7.30pm. Entry is free.
