Volunteers for a Hal-an-Tow exhibition are seeking the public’s help to piece together old photographs, memories and stories on the history of the long-established pageant.
The project aims to collect images and accounts of those involved with the Helston Flora Day celebration in order to catalogue its history throughout time.
This will then create a two-day exhibition showing the ancient traditions and personal experiences of those involved since its early beginnings, in celebration of the events heritage.
The Hal-an-Tow is an integral part of the annual Flora Day celebration with groups parading around the town and performing a song and acting out a pageant.
A volunteer team will be on hand to catalogue, scan and digitise old photos and memories in the Green School building (CAST) at 3 Penrose Road in Helston on Friday and Saturday from 7pm to 9.30pm.
