Gridiron comes to Culdrose

Trainees at RNAS Culdrose were treated to a ‘Gridiron’ American Football experience in the form of a training session from the Cornish Sharks.

Organiser Air Engineering Technician Megan Bunney said: “Everyone has been pretty excited about the Sharks coach coming to Culdrose. Not many have actually played the game so it’s pretty new for most people here today. It’s proving to be a great chance to dress up in all the gear and try out a new sport. Bringing these grass roots sports to the air station shows everybody what they are capable of doing.”

The coaching sessions provided an opportunity for the Cornish Sharks to search out new talent.
Cornish Sharks coach Brian Smallworth said: “Schools, colleges and places like Culdrose always have keen and enthusiastic people who are fit and willing to muck in and play.”
