A stunning privately-owned garden will open to the public in aid of charity on Sunday.
Carminowe Valley Garden at Gunwallow will open its gates for the charity scheme Cornwall Hospice Care’s Open Gardens. Organisers are hoping for plenty of support from green-fingered enthusiasts or those just wanting a stroll around to take in the spectacular views.
Overlooking the beautiful Carminowe Valley towards Loe Pool, the diverse two-and-a-half acre garden combines native oak woodland, tumbling brook, walkways and bridges, wild flower meadow, orchard and nectar beds.
The magnificent garden was first created by owners Marion and Peter Stanley from a mown arboretum in 2007. Opening times are 2pm to 5pm with admission £5 and children free-of- charge. Home-made cakes and cream teas available. Dogs on leads welcome.
