Fun at Brewers for Red Nose Day

Staff at local Business supplies and Printing company Brewers, on the Water-ma-Trout Industrial Estate, really got involved in Red Nose Day on Friday.

The company organised a fancy dress competition, a Bake-Off Challenge and the star attraction was the opportunity to hurl wet sponges at Branch Manager, Chris Timmins.

The day got underway with the judging of the Bake-Off. Print manager Andrew Songhurst said: “All entries were superb and picking a winner was really difficult for the judges. But in the end the prize was awarded to Katy Cox for her beautifully decorated chocolate sponge cake.”

Every member of the team got involved in the fancy dress with clowns, Disney characters, cowboys, Batman, Popeye, Cruella de Ville and Where’s Wally entrants. But the star attraction was the opportunity to throw freezing cold, wet sponges at Chris Timmins.

Chris said: “I can’t believe that so many people actually wanted to throw things at me! But it was all for a really good cause and we have raised over £160.00 for Comic Relief. I might even do it again some time!”
