First anniversary for new owners of hardware store

A hardware store has celebrated one year in business under new ownership with a cake-cutting ceremony and weekend of special offers.

Bowden’s Home Hardware in Helston has traded in the town for more than 70 years, yet was taken over by staff last year following the sudden death of owner Wesley Bowden.

Staff members Mark and Jean Slater, Caroline Langley and Martin ‘Bat’ Barnett took over the running of the business and have continued to deliver high standards of customer service.

Helston’s Mayor, Gillian Geer, attended the special ceremony and customers enjoyed a weekend of special birthday offers with more to follow throughout the next few months.
