Helston town centre will be overflowing with Christmas spirit over the next few weeks with the annual festive celebrations and lights switch-on.
Streets will buzz with festive fever on Friday as hundreds of people line the streets to see the Big Switch On event at 7.30pm.
Plenty of Christmas cheer can be found at the Children’s Lantern Parade on Friday December 14, along with a visit from a real reindeer and the chance to meet Santa in his Grotto.
The fun starts from 6pm with a ‘flash mob’ style dance by members of H.Y.P.E. Street Dance group at Coinagehall Street and Meneage Street followed by the lantern parade of around 300 children from local schools at 7pm.
The procession, led by Santa in his sleigh, will begin at Whirlwind Sports in Meneage Street before heading through the town towards Grylls Monument, around the bowling green, and back through the town.
Families can get into a festive mood by visiting a variety of craft stalls and food vans while enjoying seasonal sounds from the Central Methodist Choir.
The Epworth Hall pantomime group will be in costume to promote their next show – Dick Whittington.
