TOP GUITARISTS from around the world are heading to Helston for an international festival.
The Hellys International Guitar Festival brings together a host of leading musicians from seven countries for a series of concerts, demonstrations, interviews, free lessons and talks. Guitar fanatics will also get the chance to jam with professionals at the end of each day.
Italian guitarist Andrea Dieci, winner of the Golden Guitar Award at the Alexandria International Guitar Convention, said: “Cornwall always feels like home to me. I will perform two concerts at Hellys, a duo concert of Elizabethan music with the great lutenist Ben Salfield on Thursday, and a solo performance of the complete guitar works of Heitor Villa-Lobos on Saturday.”
Festival Director Ben Salfield added: “Some of Europe’s finest musicians are waiving their fees to fly here and give something to the community in Helston. They deserve our thanks and our support.”
The festival takes place from August 23 to 26 at The Old Cattle Market. Further information and tickets available at hellysfestival.co.uk.
