Two families have benefited from the generosity of the Helston Lions Club and Helston Rotary Club in a quest to ensure their children have a safer night’s sleep.
Sarah Phillips and Hollie Hallibone both have young children who suffer from epilepsy and many of their seizures are sleep related. The families were encouraged to ask for help by Tamsin Blight, a local Face2Face representative at Oasis, a group offering support for families and carers with children with additional needs and disabilities.
Vince Grispo, President of Helston Rotary Club said: “After receiving Sarah’s appeal, we felt it appropriate to make a pledge to fund the purchase of an Embrace epilepsy monitor for both her little boy, Thomas and one for Emily, a little girl who also lives in Helston. Like Helston Lions, a good part of our fundraising is directed at helping local children, and we did not hesitate to help both of these families raise the funds needed for both these watches.”
The delighted parents said they were overwhelmed by both club’s generosity and offered their thanks and also to Tamsin for her support.
