Culdrose 60th Freedom Parade in Helston

RNAS Culdrose have exercised their right to march through the streets of Helston, with swords drawn and bayonets fixed, to celebrate 60 years since HMS Seahawk was granted the ‘Freedom of Helston’.

The annual spectacle celebrates the squadron’s right to march through the town in recognition of the naval base’s contribution to the town. A formal inspection took place in Trengrouse Car Park at 10.10am before parade proceeded to Meneage Street and Coinagehall Street.

The Freedom of Helston parade has taken place in the town since 1958.
