Concert of ‘Cornishness’ for Helston

Cornish folk-rock harmony band, The Countrymen, is coming to Helston for the first time to play a live set at the Epworth Hall.
With a relaxed and light-hearted style, the six-piece band will take the audience on a journey through the history and culture of Cornwall while performing their own arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs, as well as original material.
Band member and vocalist Steve Gilbert said: “There’s something a bit special about our concert performances. There’s a much closer connection with the audience and we seem to raise our game because of it”.
The Launceston-based group’s performance is interspersed with the occasional pop cover to ‘lighten the mood when required’. The event, which takes place on Friday, 22 November, will be the band’s final concert appearance in 2019.
Doors open at 6.30pm with a 7.30pm start. Tickets cost £10 and are available at www.crbo.co.uk/countrymen, or £12 on the door.
