Children go wild in the woods

Penrose National Trust are hunting for kids to go wild in the woods to explore trees and everything they offer at a series of events next month.

Activities include how to identify different trees and build shelters, plus building fires where participants can cook a special ‘bushcraft bread’ flavoured by sap from a tree.

Participants will meet in the Stables Café at Penrose for the event on August 8 from 10am to 12.30pm, and 1.30pm to 4pm for unaccompanied children aged 7 years and over.

A second event will be held on August 15 from 1.30pm to 4pm for families and children under 7 years. Tickets cost £8.50 per child and include a hot drink and a snack cooked over the fire.

Pre-booking is essential by emailing claire@greatscottadventuresoutdoors.com.
