Awards scheme recognises good work of council tenants

Cornwall Housing has launched an awards scheme for council tenants to recognise the difference tenants make in the community and promote their good work.

Categories in the Cornwall Housing Chair Awards are Best Community Support, Best Young Person of the Year, Best Neighbour of the Year and a Business Start-up Award. The winner of each category will be invited to the Cornwall Housing Tenants Forum annual general meeting in November to be presented with a certificate.

Chair of Cornwall Housing, Nick Ball, said: “Too often Council tenants across the country are portrayed negatively, where only the bad stuff makes the headlines. These awards are about sharing the incredibly good work that our tenants do with the wider public, tirelessly working to improve their local communities for themselves and others.”
Jane Barlow, Managing Director of Cornwall Housing added: “Some of our tenants have had to overcome challenging circumstances, yet they still make the time to engage with and help others. These awards will give us as a company the opportunity to thank our involved tenants and showcase just what remarkable things are being accomplished.”

Nominations can be made at or by calling 0300 1234 161 and asking to speak to an engagement officer.
