A fun Texan scramble around Mullion golf course

It was fun and laughter all the way to the 18th hole for the latest Texas Scramble at Mullion GC.

This format is always popular and a strong field contested for the magnificent Tex Edwards Trophy.

The winning threesome Ray Hudson, John Turpin and Malc Scott (photo below) scored 62.4 to beat second placed Phil Dickson, Alan Connor and Brian Swabey who were just behind on 63.5.

Finishing third with 64.4 was Steve Riley, Brian Wooller and Keith Ridler

Praa Sands Gofl Club Captain Andy Holmes won the Men’s Medals Finals Trophy on Sunday.

He scored 58 to finish comfortably ahead of Matt Tregenza on 62, john Warden came in third, Rod Jones fourth and David Prowse fifth.

Judy Harris won the Ladies’ Stableford competition on Saturday with 35 points. Sue Harvey was second with 33 and Margaret Richardson third with 32 points on countback from Barbara Wilkins and Carole Jones respectively.

This weekend will see the club playing for their Anniversary Trophies, the ladies on Saturday and men on Sunday.

On Monday there is the Spring Bank Holiday Stableford for all playing members.
