Delve into your World War 1 history at research day

The public is invited to step back in time and research their family history at the Helston Museum this weekend.

The WW1 Family Research Open Day will offer a chance to research family history during WW1, or family history in general.

The free event is a joint session between the museum’s photographic digitisation project and the Helston WW1 Heritage Project and will provide an opportunity for visitors to browse archive images from the period.

A spokesperson said: “It would also be very helpful if you could bring along your own laptop or tablet as we only have limited ones available. This is to improve ease of use and time but not to worry if you don’t have one.”

Visitors are also encouraged to bring along any relevant photographs from their own collections. The session takes place at the museum on Saturday from 10am until 1pm with donations welcome.
